About Us

Woodworks Chainsaw Carving is a creative collaboration of artists Jon Mykkanen and Marie Serafin. After many years in the bulding trade, where he specialized in hand-scribed log homes, Jon was ready for a change.  Capitalizing on his skill with a chainsaw together with his artistic flair, chainsaw sculpting seemed the natural choice.  His excitement in producing this unique artform proved contagious, and partner Marie Serafin was soon convinced to try her hand at carving as well.  Together they travel to fairs, festivals and shows, demonstrating their skills and selling their art.  They can also be found working out of their home in Republic, Michigan.  Drop in for a cup of coffee and watch the carvings take shape before your eyes!

Together they hope to make their living doing what they love: producing art from nature.
