Imagine coming up to your camp in the spring only to find the front door swinging open and your belongings stolen. The theieves are long gone, their trail is cold. This happened to a good friend of ours. Her dismay has prompted us to offer a new service. Actually, it marks a return to something Jon has done in the past under the name of "The Guardian Angel". The recent rise in camp theft (particularly of copper and other metals) has us wondering how many folks could use our help.
Although we can't prevent vandals from damaging your property, we will be able to provide a quick response should it be necessary, notifying the authorities and securing the property: boarding up broken windows, replacing locks or whatever is needed.
Damage can also be caused by Mother Nature, with heavy snow loads on roofs being a major cause for worry. Downed trees and limbs can also lead to problems. The damage is compounded the longer it goes unnoticed.
We will perform periodic checks on your property while you're away for the winter. The cost of these services varies, depending on where your camp is located and how often you want us to check on it. As an example, if the camp is located wihthin a 20-mile radius of Republic, we can perform checks for about $30 per visit. We will keep a record of when we went out, what we found and what work, if any, needs to be done.
Another way to protect your belongings you may want to consider is to create a visual record of them. Should you need to file a claim with the insurance company, this record would be invaluable. We can help you with this process, taking digital pictures and storing them on discs. That way, should something go missing, you'lll know exactly what it is.
